Project
I built the brand visuals for reformé, the football shin guard startup of my friend André Nettermann, working pro bono alongside my main freelance work.
André's background combines football — as a goalkeeper at SV Darmstadt 98 and later an outfield player at SFC Friedrichshain — with a biology degree and several years in industrial 3D printing at Formlabs and Qualified AM. Having witnessed serious injuries among teammates during his own youth football years, he set out to apply his production expertise to protective gear, developing reformé Shield: a heat-mouldable, EN 13061:2009 certified shin guard with integrated, breathable padding and a repeatable custom-fit process via the Reformé FitKit. As a small, founder-led team, André needed a full visual identity built from the ground up and I took on the sole responsibility for all visual aspects of the brand, working alongside teammates handling PR and video production.
My contribution spanned logo and product design, packaging design, explainer video production, some (not all) social media content and the design and build of the website and webshop. I also handled photographic documentation of the product and process throughout. Working closely with André, I translated his product vision into a coherent visual language across every touchpoint — from packaging on the shelf to the site guiding backers toward launch — balancing his direction with my own design judgment along the way. reformé launched its Kickstarter campaign for the Shield in 2026.
